Reading Your Blood Test Report: Basic Terms Every Patient Should Know

Blood report milte hi log seedha “H/L” arrows dekhte hain. Thoda basics jaan loge to doctor se baat karna bhi easy ho jayega.

CBC (complete blood count) me haemoglobin, RBC, WBC, platelets aate hain. Haemoglobin low ho to anaemia ki taraf indicate karta hai. WBC zyada ho to infection/inflammation, bahut kam ho to immunity concern ho sakta hai. Platelets bleeding/clotting se related.

LFT me liver enzymes (AST, ALT), bilirubin, proteins aate hain. Enzymes high ho to liver stressed ho sakta hai; but ek single mild rise hamesha catastrophe nahi hota.

KFT me creatinine, urea etc. kidneys ke status ka rough idea dete hain. Fasting sugar, HbA1c diabetes side ke markers hain. Lipid profile me cholesterol types – LDL, HDL, triglycerides – aate hain.

Reference range lab ke side pe hoti hai, lekin yaad rakho: thoda upar–neeche hamesha disease nahi hota. Pattern, symptoms, aur complete picture important hai. Kisi ek slightly abnormal value ko Google kar ke worst-case reading karo, anxiety hi milegi.

Best practice – results lekar doctor ke paas jao, simple language me pucho “Kaun se numbers concern hain, kaun se theek hain, aur mujhe kya life me change karna chahiye?”
